Condensation on the Window? Size the Dehumidifier to the Job

Two 20L compressor machines handle the same damp room differently: Devola adds a replaceable HEPA filter, while PureMate gives you a much larger bucket. The daily chore matters more than the headline extraction number.

30-second verdict

Choose the Devola 20L HEPA listing if you want a replaceable particle filter alongside dehumidification and can empty its 4L tank or run the included drain hose. Choose the PureMate PM-465 if you cannot reach a drain and its 6.5L tank will save carrying trips. Both advertise up to 20L/day, not a promise of 20L in an ordinary cool room. Devola's Amazon bullet says 36dB while its own DV20L manual specifies 44–45dB; do not buy it on the quieter number. Both exact new offers were in stock with active purchase buttons and delivery to London SW1A 1AA. PureMate was fulfilled by Amazon; Devola was dispatched and sold by Big On Electricals. 20L HEPA Compressor Dehumidifier

20L Hepa · ASIN B08P7SLKBX

£143.99 new offer checked 24 Sep 2026

The selected 20L Hepa Amazon offer has a 4L tank, removable filter, included drain tube and castors. Devola's DV20L materials describe a replaceable HEPA element; plan for filter replacements as ongoing upkeep. The exact Amazon page does not print DV20L, so check the model label on arrival before buying model-specific spares. Matching-option review feedback mentions easy use and portability. The maker's manual says 44–45dB(A), despite the Amazon bullet's 36dB claim. Big On Electricals was the checked seller and shipper, with 89% positive feedback from 1,079 ratings over 12 months.

PM-465 20L Compressor Dehumidifier

White · ASIN B0C9YR76G9

£169.99 new offer checked 24 Sep 2026

The selected White listing gives a 6.5L tank, hose for continuous gravity drainage, castors and humidity controls. PureMate's PM-465 specifications match the selected product and state a 30m² recommended room area, 14kg weight and 12-month warranty. Its optional ioniser is not the same thing as Devola's replaceable HEPA filter; no independent air-cleaning outcome was established. Matching White review feedback mentions low noise, good extraction and ample water storage, while flagging fiddly buttons. The new offer was sold by PureMate and fulfilled by Amazon for the checked London address.

What we researched

We screened live Amazon UK results for 20L dehumidifiers and compared two purchasable compressor units from different brands. The Devola 20L HEPA offer showed 200+ bought in the past month and 357 reviews; PureMate's selected White 20L offer also showed 200+ and 263 reviews. These are changing signals for the listings, not market share or a UK popularity ranking. The useful choice is how you will handle water and filters every week. Neither unit's up-to-20L claim tells you what a cool bedroom will collect.

Key findings

The bucket is the everyday difference

The 6.5L PureMate tank holds 2.5L more than Devola's 4L tank. In a damp room without a floor drain, that can mean fewer interruptions. A full larger tank is heavier to carry, so think about the path to the sink as well as frequency.

High

A HEPA filter changes the maintenance plan

Devola's replaceable HEPA element is a distinct feature, but it needs future replacements. PureMate's ioniser and pre-filter should not be described as equivalent particle filtration. Choose by the actual task, not an air-purifier label alone.

High

Trust the manual over a conflicting noise bullet

Devola's selected retail page says 36dB while its DV20L manual specifies 44–45dB(A). Room placement and operating mode also affect what you hear. The quietness claim is too inconsistent to settle the purchase on its own.

Pre-purchase checklist

Confirm Devola 20L Hepa ASIN B08P7SLKBX or PureMate White PM-465 ASIN B0C9YR76G9; avoid switching to 12L or smart-app variants.
If buying Devola filters, confirm DV20L on the delivered unit label before ordering model-specific spares.
Measure drain route and downhill fall, or plan where a full 4L/6.5L bucket will be emptied.
Allow the manual's clearance around the air inlet and keep the appliance upright as directed.
For Devola, use 44–45dB(A) as the documented figure, not the conflicting 36dB retail bullet.
At checkout, recheck new condition, seller, delivery, returns and any Prime eligibility for your address.

Method
On 24 September 2026, Amazon UK Best Sellers sorting was used for candidate discovery only. We excluded absorbers and mismatched sizes, checked two exact ASINs and selected variants, new offers, active purchase controls, seller and London delivery, and read a matching five-star verified UK review on each detail page. We checked Devola and PureMate product pages and manuals, plus the Devola seller profile. The Devola Amazon offer does not state its maker's DV20L model code, so model-specific maintenance advice is conditional on the delivered label. We disclosed the material 36dB versus 44–45dB(A) conflict. Listing purchase labels and review totals are not market share; rating totals can include variants. Product selection was independent of affiliate availability. As an Amazon Associate, buypick may earn from qualifying purchases where an eligible affiliate link is used.
