The 20V MAX and 18V labels alone do not prove one drills harder: the brands publish different power measures, so do not compare DEWALT's 300 UWO directly with Makita's 440 in-lb torque. Those changing listing signals differ sharply, but do not establish market share or drilling performance. The decision is less about the printed battery voltage than about kit continuity, motor and gear design, and whether you plan to buy future tools on the same battery platform.
