Choose JBL Flip 5 if a 540 g, bottle-sized speaker you can slip into a bag will actually travel with you. Choose Anker soundcore Boom 2 if your music needs to cover a patio or campsite and you will carry a 3.7 lb speaker for stronger output, app EQ and phone charging. Neither has a documented dust rating. At the checked US offers, both were new, in stock, Prime eligible and fulfilled by Amazon; the JBL was sold by an established third-party seller, while Boom 2 was sold by AnkerDirect.

Amazon US Best Sellers-sorted portable-speaker search was used to screen candidates, then both exact black offers and their buy boxes were checked. The JBL listing showed 9K+ bought in the past month and 85,573 global ratings; Boom 2 showed 6K+ and 8,969. Those are current listing signals, not US-wide sales rankings, and global ratings can pool colour options. Both selected offers were new, available for US delivery and offered Prime shipping. Huppins, the Flip 5 seller, showed 100K+ orders fulfilled in the past year and more than ten years on Amazon; AnkerDirect sold Boom 2. Amazon fulfilled both.
